AVERILL HOSPITALITY CELEBRATES EDGEWATER MISSOULA HOTEL RENOVATION AND REBRAND WITH MEDIA DAY AND SITE TOURS

Renovation and rebrand usher in new resort-style era for one of Missoula’s most historic hotel properties.

MISSOULA, Mont. (August 27, 2026) — Today, Averill Hospitality leadership joined staff at the Edgewater Missoula (formerly DoubleTree Missoula) to celebrate the completion of a multiyear renovation and rebrand, which brings the hotel into the Tapestry Collection by Hilton and provides an enhanced guest experience at the renewed property.

The Edgewater Missoula renovation created a new pool and pool deck area, offering a dedicated outdoor space for guests to swim and relax, along with a new second-story fitness center with views of Mount Sentinel. These additions expand the property’s recreational and fitness amenities while complementing its location along the Clark Fork River. Other significant changes include expanded lobby and coworking spaces and a new valet parking system.

The Edgewater Missoula, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, continues to be a popular choice for residents and visitors, including Griz football fans looking for a gathering space and travelers drawn to downtown Missoula and the Clark Fork River. The property will also continue to operate FINN, a local favorite restaurant known for its award-winning bar, craft cocktails and local microbrews.

The renewed Edgewater invites guests to experience Missoula from a fresh perspective, with a more welcoming arrival, comfortable spaces to gather and thoughtful touches designed to make a stay feel effortless. From the moment guests arrive, the updated environment offers new ways to settle in, connect and enjoy the property.

“The Edgewater has been a special property to so many Montanans over the years. Our vision has been to honor the property’s deep connection to Missoula while reimagining the experience for today’s traveler, blending contemporary urban sophistication with the warmth and personal connection of genuine hospitality,” said Brian Averill, president of Averill Hospitality. “This renovation brings that vision to life with thoughtfully renewed spaces where guests gather, relax, dine and connect, while preserving the character and comfort that has made the Edgewater special for decades. We’re excited to welcome guests and neighbors back to a reimagined riverfront destination just in time for the start of the Griz season.”

Together, these spaces reflect The Edgewater’s renewed identity: a place rooted in its history and surroundings, yet designed for the way guests gather, travel and experience Missoula today.

The Edgewater name dates back to the 1970s, when the property was first built and named for its scenic location along the Clark Fork River. Averill Hospitality purchased the property in 2016 and recently rebranded the hotel as a Tapestry Collection by Hilton to emphasize its local, historic identity, while retaining the Hilton loyalty program benefits important to the hotel’s many loyal guests. Tapestry Collection by Hilton is an upper-midscale to upscale portfolio of independent, boutique hotels featuring original personalities, unique local designs and Hilton Honors benefits.
